By reading this section, you will learn what a domain name and a host is and how you can register one.A domain name is the name you type to access a website, the domain name of this website is “Johny.org”.
A host is a computer hosting the website. It’s where you place the files that create your website.

Why do we need a domain name to access the website? Why not simply put the name of the host?
A host does not have a name, it has an ip address. The domain names job is to translate that ip into a user friendly name.

Pricing:
A domain name costs around 10$, I use Godaddy.com for my domains and hosting but feel free to check around. At the end of the day, before you register, google the companies name and see if they have bad reviews.

The hosting price depends on the package you want, again I use godaddy but feel free to choose any hosting company you feel fits your needs. On godaddy, you have 3 plans, you can check them here. I use the Deluxe plan since I have many websites and with this plan, I can host them all on the same account. For most of you, the Economy plan should be more than enough.
If you end up choosing godaddy for your hosting an domain name, you can google for coupons and enter them when checking out, some coupons will give you up to 20% discount on your order.

Tips:
Make sure you select an easy to remember domain name, and make it short, the longer it is, the harder it will be for people to remember.
Make sure you select LINUX for your hosting plan.
